Saint-Saëns' operatic masterpiece of the Old Testament story provides a sweeping, atmospheric musical tableaux of the ancient middle east, and contains some of opera's most famous music, including Dalila's great seduction scene. Samson succumbs and gives up the secret of his great strength. Newly shorn, he is taken captive by the Philistines and blinded, but when he is brought into a celebration where the Philistines and Dalila mock him, he prays for strength one last time.

American mezzo-soprano Denyce Graves makes her Florida Grand Opera debut as the legendary temptress, following her triumphant Metropolitan Opera performances in the same role. Florida City native tenor Jon Villars, who has been earning international accolades in some of opera's most demanding tenor roles, joins her as Samson.

Don't get a haircut for this one. Oh, and yes, the temple will fall.
